OPI NAILPOLISH: Pink-ing of You

Wow, two post in one day! Who knew I would even attempt that, haha;) Anyways, I just finished up painting my nails and thought I'd share my experience. I'm a horder; I like to buy products either because they appeal to me or because the Internet and all these bloggers and youtubers express products as if its a life changing item. So why not! (Oh gosh I seriously may have to do a blog sale in the future). Ok back to the main reason why I'm posting this. I have several OPI nail polishes and this weekend I bought more and I've never used my other ones! Crazy, I know. The reason behind that is I feel that whenever I use a brand like OPI or Essie they just end up streaking or air bubbles pop up. It could be that I don't know how to apply on nail polish and that's probably it. Then again, why should painting nails be a difficult thing to do?! Therefore, I ways gear back to my cheaper brand nail polishes such as Wet N' Wild(fave), Rimmel, and Forever 21(limited selection in Alaska). The delimma with those brands are that their color range is so minimal and I want the colors that Essie, OPI, China Glaze, etc produce! Ughh... is their a 'How to apply nail polish' course anywhere? Haha.

Nail Polish: OPI Pink-ing of You

Application: Smooth, Lucid, No streaks, 3 coats

Result: Even coverage, after drying there were a few bumps on a couple of nails

This polish overall was pretty good. I adore the color but would have liked it better in two coats. I wish I could just master the art of painting nails and I'm sure I would love OPI polish more. Unlike, cheaper brands this one has a nicer finish without a top coat. If I left anything out that you want to know about just comment below(; As always, until next time!

DRUGSTORE: Milani lipsticks

     I haven't quite got the hang of blogging just yet. I love purchasing clothes, cosmetics, and miscellaneous items that I thought I'd share my opinions and just everything with everyone a part of the Internet community. It's proven hard to set aside time to post reviews about products I have during my weekdays then weekends come and all I want to do is sleep. Am I wrong?! Haha;) Thanks for bearing with me though. Today I decided I'd finally post 'something' about my Milani lipsticks I purchased from Target a month ago. 

Milani Cosmetics is that line of cosmetics that I always seem to stare at for minutes in the drugstore to just turn around and pick something else up. I don't know why I do it but I do. Weird because I love their liquid eye liner and their polishes. This time though, I finally decided to pick up some lipsticks. I love their gold packaging. It's plastic and cheap like any other cosmetic brand at the drugstore but I just like the look. Plus, I give it another star for having a clear exposed bottom to show what the lip color is intended to be and they actually match the swatches, yay! The downside to their packaging is that your fingerprint will imprint but I don't really fuss about things like that too much.

     Onto the texture. Milani has different textures and finishes to their whole slew of lipstick colors such as vinyl, cream, frosted, matte, etc. I believe that mine are cream finishes because they have a very silky and creamy application. I haven't worn these lipsticks all day but honestly I don't have to to know that they will come off after an hour of two. The texture gives it off. If you like to continuously apply your lipstick through out the day or fine with doing so this is a product to consider but if you want something you don't have to worry about skip this one. A huge downfall to these lipsticks is that they have an extremely obnoxious smell to it. It smells quite fruity like starburst or something. I can't quite put my hand on it at the moment but if you are sensitive to smells beware. Another thing is that this lipstick leaves no color stain so taking it off will be effortless. Honestly, I like lipsticks that stain because it leaves a natural tinted look on  my lips after I eat it all off, haha.

     The Milani lipsticks are ok but they're nothing new. It contains colors that are pretty generic to any other lip line at the drugstore. If you're an avid fan of Milani cosmetics then why not continue with your collection, if not, then, I'd rather choose Revlon or Rimmel lipsticks.

TOMS For Extra Wide Feet!

Every teen knows about Toms. It's quite popular amongst young teens and young adults. As for myself I have always wanted a pair of classic red Toms. They're simple, comfortable, cute, and your purchase goes towards a great cause. But of course, there lies a dilemma! My feet are waaaaay to wide and trying on shoes thinking that the associate at nordstrom is gonna see me try to squeeze on a shoe that can't fit, is by far my worst nightmare!(Yes people, my confident self is in some ways self-conscious, it's one if those things that make us human!) I may not have an exact solution to my problem and possibly yours but I have an alternative. Toms has a line of slip ons that are the exact make as the classics but they're crochet! Now, I know what you're thinking.. crochet.. what the heck?! Trust me guys, or not, but see for yourself down below...

Are they not just the cutest! I absolutely fell in love with these crochet version Toms. I just have to thank my coworker for wearing hers all the time or else I would have never known. Part of me is still disappointed that I can't fit the classic Toms but hey, since when was I ever Miss. Plain Jane? Haha. I'm completely satisfied with my pick of Creme and Black, although the lavender and coral colored ones are tempting. Maybe in the near future... Oh almost forgot! As for fit I suggest you go down half a size your normal shoe size for you wide feet ladies like myself but for the misses out there who have the average feet width, I'd probably go down a whole shoe size since these will definitely stretch in a couple wears. I purchased a size 9 1/2 because I believe its my true shoe size if my feet werent so wide but I do wear anything from 9-11 depending on the style and the shoe company but mainly size 10 if I had to choose. My 9 1/2 Toms fit perfect for the first wear but through out the day I felt it give a little (scale from 1-10, I'd say solid 6). Therefore, I advise that you guys go for a size or half smaller when purchasing. Well guys I hope this helped out a bit if not stay tuned for next time. Review: Onyx Nail Dip Polish Remover and Equate Nail Dip Polish Remover

I was just thinking this afternoon of what I should review and I was like "Duh!" It's a great idea to inform you guys about my new polish removers I bought a couple of weeks ago. Besides I need to polish my nails again. I first heard of this 'magical' nail polish remover from StyleSuzi(great fashion and beauty guru, loveee!). From her quick video it showed her dipping her nail into the polish remover container and pulling it back out in seconds with a completely clean nail! How freaking awesome is that! I got curious of course and went to buy it. Going into this I didn't know what was gonna be in the container. Like I said, Suzi's video was a quick in and out, then BAM! clean. So there were two different brands that I purchased from(both under $3 max each). The first one is by Equate and the other by Onyx Professional.


Equate Nail Polish Remover

Lets just say I was surprised. Basically, it's just a large soaked sponge in a container... haha! I never thought to use a sponge to remove polish, so whoever created this, smart(smarter than me at least)! I don't believe this one is 100% acetone but it does contain acetone.It is also protein enriched and used for natural nails. I'm sure it would work on acrylic nails too. The smell is like any other polish remover, chemical like, no added artificial smell to make it seem less intense either.
So in my pictures below you'll see the equate container and how it looks like inside. The fourth picture shows how well it works. So from section 1-2 on picture 4, I DID NOT rub my finger against the sponge. I just dipped my finger in and left it in for 20 seconds and took it out. In section 3, I dipped my finger in again and rubbed it gently against the sponge and it took off the polish left behind the first time. The last picture displays the result of dipping in a nail and rubbing it against the sponge for 20 seconds which took all the polish in one go. Overall, I'm happy with the results of the Equate Polish Remover. Its fast and easy. Plus I don't have to revert back to using cotton balls or pads. Because many of us know that those stupid cotton hairs secretly stay behind and ruin your polish or they fly in the air and eventually land on your newly coated polish and just ruin everythannnng, haha! Besides its a steaaal, its under 2 bucks!


ONYX Professional Nail Polish Remover
(100% Acetone)

I'm gonna start off with, 'if you think Asians are attentive to details, I don't fall under that category.' Ok, so I think I mentioned this above but before this review I have used the Equate remover but didn't get the chance to test the Onyx remover. Pretty much as I was opening this container I thought I was gonna see a soaked sponge as well but, a big BUT by the way, it was this weird looking light pink, plastic, prickly holed concoction and I was like, "Oh my gosh! What the heck?!" and laughed. Anyways, I went on to test this out. Like with the Equate testing the first two pictures were demonstrating an in and out within 20 seconds and no rubbing. The third picture is the result of slight rubbing and removal of the left over product from the previous. The last picture shows a first time in and out with rubbing and the nail was completely clean. I think the Onyx remover works better but I don't know if its because of the material used in this process( sponge vs. prickly plastic) or because the Onyx remover is 100% acetone. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that, no, the plastic pricklies do not hurt, it's like a hair brush/toothbrush against your nails. I'm sorry if that doesn't make any sense; I can't really think of a comparison at the top of my head right now. The Onyx Nail Polish Remover runs around 2 bucks and some change. Either way, both products are under 3 bucks so yay!

You can find these products at Walmart (where I purchased it) or at Walgreens, Ulta, or any drugstores by you. Give them a try, it's amazing and you probably won't go back to cotton balls.

Review: Freeman Facial Clay Mask - Avocado and Oatmeal

I am oh so excited to share this product with you guys! I was around town with my 3 sisters and our last stop of the evening was at Walgreens. I went there to go purchase some more Revlon Just Bitten Kissable lippies but to my surprise the whole cosmetic area was practically empty. There were still products on shelves but it was more empty than filled. I assumed they were getting rid of the old and bringing in the new shipments. Oh well! Before I new it my sister came up to me and was like, " Hey Karen! These masks are on sale for 2.50. Should I buy it?" I froze momentarily and had to do a double take. I was like, " Wahhh! No way that is my favorite face mask ever! Where is it? I've been looking for that for years!(casually, not hardcore looking but casually, haha)." Anyways, long story short, they had like 7 left and I bought 6 of them. I have to let another customer get curious and purchase this amazing face mask too! Besides they were a steal... $2.50 ?? That's almost absurd, hahaa. Not really but a good deal. So if it isn't a hassle, stop by your nearest Walgreens and pick it up. They might have it at Walmart too but I couldn't find it:(

Okay and now onto the actual review! I haven't used this in a while but I'm hoping it is still the same. This review is on a one time use(since a very long while) basis so I may do an update if I continue using it and its not as good or even better. This Freeman's avocado and oatmeal clay mask is a very thick texture, like its name clay but more pliable. It drys fairly quickly and has a nice cooling effect to your skin. It definitely has a nice strong fragrant so if you usually don't like products with smells stay away. For application all you have to do is dampen the skin slightly and cover your skin entirely with the product avoiding the eye area. You'll start to feel the cool sensation go away and your skin begin to tighten. It doesn't say how long to leave it on but generally I leave it on for 5-7 minutes or however short/long period it takes for you to feel tightening on the skin. When your ready to take it off I just hover over the sink and rinse with cool/warm water but you could also dampen a face cloth and gently remove the product. Either way is fine. After you complete your face mask it should feel clean and unclogged. It is very important to moisturize after using any mask. It can definitely make your face feel dry. So, I like to finish off using my First Green Tea sleeping pack lotion, but to each their own.

FOTD ft. Estée Lauder and more...

Today was as usual, a day full of wonderful ideas and unfulfilled ones.
Therefore my best at home idea was too just dress my face up since I don't really have the time on weekdays. Today I used my Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation (I wear Tawny, for comparison I wear NC25 in MAC but consider myself between NC25-30 though). To apply this foundation I use ELF's powder brush and just stipple it all over my face and blend in circular motions. Oh and FYI I do start my face with MAC's Fix Fluid then my face lotion. Currently, I use the Body Shop's bronzer in 1 and NYC Sunny bronzer as my contour in conjunction. For blush, I usually use MAC's Pink Swoon(all time favorite pink blush) but since it wasn't on my vanity today I went for the nearest one which is ELF's blush in Pink Passion. I apply both bronzer and blush with the Elf small stipple brush. I finished highlighting with MAC's Soft and Gentle highlighter. My eye brows were filled in using ELF's brow duo in dark. I finished up my look with MAC's Media on my lips. I adore this color but in the picture it definitely comes out a bit more raspberry or maybe I just didn't apply enough. Anyways that's my face for today, haha with no where to go! Oh how I miss the weather...

It was only just a couple of days ago when there was clear blue skies and beautiful fall colored leaves. Now Fall has dissappeared and Winter has come. I wake up to dry air, a chilly breeze, and a dark sky with streets blanketed with snow. I miss you cool, refreshing air with a hint of warmth from the Sun:)
